How long does a polypropylene filter cloth typically last?

2026-02-02

Service life of polypropylene filter cloth (industry standard value)
1. Normal operating conditions (temperature ≤ 80℃, no strong oxidation, no sharp particles)
Plate-and-frame / Chamber Filter Press: 3–6 months
Belt filter press: 3–6 months
Centrifuge, vacuum filter: 2–4 months
2. Favorable operating conditions (gentle particles, stable pH, standardized cleaning procedures)
Available for 6–12 months
3. Harsh operating conditions (strong oxidation, high abrasion, high temperature, frequent acid cleaning)
May be damaged, leak through, or deform within 1 to 3 months.

Key factors that affect lifespan (determining how long you can live)
Temperature
Over 90℃ → Quickly softens, deforms, and becomes unusable.
Strong oxidizing agent
Sodium hypochlorite, hydrogen peroxide, bleach → direct brittleness, fabric rotting
Particle wear
Quartz sand, slag, glass powder, etc. → Worn-out filter cloth
Cleaning method
High-pressure water jets and strong acid/alkali cleaning → significantly reduced lifespan
Usage frequency
24-hour continuous operation → Half the lifespan
