Core Performance Parameters of Polypropylene Filter Cloth
2026-02-03
Polypropylene filter cloth (also known as polypropylene filter fabric or PP filter cloth) is an industrial filtration material made from polypropylene (polypropylene fiber) fibers through either weaving or nonwoven processes. It is a cost-effective filter medium widely used in solid-liquid separation and the filtration of mildly corrosive gases.
Core Performance Parameters
Chemical stability: Resistant to strong acids and strong bases, with a pH tolerance range of 1–14; however, it is not resistant to strong oxidizing agents (such as concentrated sodium hypochlorite) or organic solvents like aromatics and halogenated hydrocarbons. Hygroscopicity < 0.1%; hydrophobic; floats on water.
Temperature resistance: Continuous safe operating temperature ≤ 90℃; softening point 140–160℃, melting point 165–173℃; easily deformed at high temperatures.
Physical properties: Density 0.91 g/cm³ (lighter than water); tensile strength 4.5–9 g/d, elongation at break 18%–35%.
Filtration accuracy: Can be controlled through weaving techniques and post-processing treatments (heat setting, calendering, coating), typically ranging from several micrometers to hundreds of micrometers.
